Dunlossit Meat Deliveries

by Fenning Welstead - 17:00 on 01 December 2008

We've had three large chops and made a mistake by cooking them like any other chop, when they seems to need slower cooking.

The flavour was tremendous and they were so large that after one meal we were able to generate enough to make a casserole and that led into a tureen of soup with porcine stock.  So, three meals out of what started as one.

We can't wait to try a proper joint!

By the way, our box arrived in perfect condition and was sitting on the table under the verandah as good as new.

Thank you Dunlossit!

Thank you Dunlossit for a brilliant delivery service. Two packages made their way Sough from Islay to Lincolnshire in perfect condition. Only sampled the sausages so far, but the joints and chops look wonderful. We're looking forward to the New Year promise of a box of offal to complete the experience.

I was fortunate to be able to take part ina n experiment that Dunlossit Estate were doing to see which tasted better. An older pig of 2 years or a one year old pig. I must say that although both were incredibily delicious and tender, I felt that the older pig had a more intense flavour than the younger pig. I was very surprised as I thought the younger pig would be more succulent and tastier than the older one. Well done Dunlossit!

I have taken delivery of one of your beef hampers. Thank you for your excellent communication and fast delivery. The meat itself is the best I have tasted. For those who would like a tip on cooking the steak, it cooks in a few minutes, and is so tender, it almost falls apart. I will certainly be buying more beef and look forward to dealing with you in the near future. Well done!

I had a very good Gigot of your pork at the weekend. It was excellent. Also made a hole in the barbecue pack.

I had Dunlossit frying steak, barbecued at the weekend and I've never tasted beef like that before. It was so wonderful that I even bought a box of meat from Dunlossit the next day.

I thought that you'd like some feedback on my beef box. I thought that my 21 day hung Highland cow was extremely good. The mince is excellent and we had roasted topside last night. I have never risked roasting topside before but emboldened by the excellence of the so called 'frying steak' which tasted more like sirloin we tried the topside as a roast and it drew admiring comments from a couple of friends who even asked from where it came! I'd be happy to recommend the beef to anyone.
