Our own concern for your safety, the environment, and the Estate’s insurance policy requires that the following be observed by all users of fishing boats:
  • No petrol outboard engines are allowed on any of the lochs.
  • Fishers may use their own electric outboard motors if they need to do so because of impaired mobility or other medical conditions.
  • Only fly fishing is allowed.
  • Please ensure you report your catch to the Estate Office after your fishing expedition.
  • Buoyancy aids can be provide upon request.
  • Children must wear buoyancy aids at all times and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The responsible adult must have the means of summoning emergency help (typically this will be a mobile telephone).
  • The use of floatation tubes and other devices to assist water-borne fishing is permitted under access legislation, but fishers should note that this requires a full loch fishing permit, as it does not fall within the category of bank fishing. This is necessary to regulate the number of fishers on the water at any one time, and to contribute towards the maintenance of landing facilities.
